Slovenian-based fleet company erects Raimondi MRT111 on new residential tower jobsite in Ljubljana
Klančar Cranes, the Slovenian specialist in heavy equipment supply for more than 40 years, is currently working across different jobsites between Slovenia and Croatia with eleven Raimondi topless tower cranes. Most recently, the company erected one Raimondi MRT111 flat-top tower crane in Slovenian capital city, Ljubljana.
Participating in the construction of a new residential tower, the MRT111 is freestanding onsite with a jib length of 54m and a Height Under Hook (H.U.H.) of 48m. Erected within a day in February 2021, the machine will remain at work for approximately 10 months.
“The choice of renting the Raimondi MRT111 to the contractor was made by considering its performance ratio and versatility of tower height. It’s 8 tons maximum lifting capacity and the good load chart when erected in shortened jib configuration allowed us to meet the jobsite needs,” said Andrej Klančar, Chief Executive Officer, Klančar Cranes. The new development, Celovška Residence, is a residential building of 10 floors with at the ground floor dedicated to commercial space.
Onsite with a maximum tip load of 1.8t at 54m jib, the machine is tasked with lifting steel, concrete, formworks and interior equipment in second phase of construction. “Considering that Celovška Road is one of the most congested areas of the capital, crane configuration flexibility was essential in this case in order to accommodate the extremely complicated logistics and viability of the project,” he added.
The jobsite required the partial closure of the access road due to limited space around the construction site, with special precautions taken to secure the area between erection operations and ongoing traffic.
Currently operating across the Balkans, the business counts a fleet of 90 cranes, working on 220 project per year on average.
