Nurol Construction has picked two Raimondi luffing jib cranes to build Corniche Tower, an Abu Dhabi waterfront development owned by HH Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The 35-storey mixed-use tower will be built by the Raimondi LR165 crane, which is already a part of Nurol’s fleet. The contractor has expanded its Raimondi collection with the new luffing LR213, which is also being deployed for Corniche Tower. The LR165 has a 55m jib length and a height-under-hook (HUH) of 45m, and Raimondi said the crane will eventually be climbed to 172m. Meanwhile, the LR213, with a 55m jib length and HUH of 45m, will climb to 187m. Raimondi’s Middle East commercial director, Wael Hasan, said the LR213 is equipped with the Delux R16 Crane Cabin, with the crane chosen by Nurol as part of its fleet upgrade. The machine has a maximum lifting capacity of 14 tonnes and offers “versatility in areas with difficult to obtain fly-over permissions”.
