Al Akkad National Projects L.L.C. (Al Akkad) has erected two Raimondi MRT111 topless tower cranes from its existing fleet at a new mixed use development in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman. “The two MRT111s were originally purchased in 2014, and have served Al Akkad extremely well across multiple Gulf worksites over the past four years. To meet this new development’s work height requirements, Al Akkad purchased new additional sections for the cranes,” said Wael Hasan, Middle East Commercial Manager, Raimondi Cranes. The MRT111s, at respective freestanding heights of 41.55 meters and 47.25 meters including embedded elements, are both fitted with 60 meter jibs.

Due to the congested project locale – creating constraints on where the mobile crane could be positioned – Raimondi and Al Akkad carefully strategized the erections as part of the site planning procedures. Installed over a period of three days, the cranes are expected to be in use for an approximate window of 18-20 months. “As part of our ongoing after sales service and care programs, Raimondi Middle East provided training and product knowledge inductions to our client’s technicians and crane operators for three days. Raimondi also supplied one electrician and two erectors under the supervision of the Middle East Operations Manager to the jobsite,” Hasan explained. In addition, Raimondi Middle East will address maintenance for the duration of the project to facilitate client timelines and project delivery objectives.

“Raimondi is proud to take part in this prestigious project in Muscat, highly publicized for its superior location and its modern design schema; it is a much sought-after development in the Sultanate.” The Al Khaiat Building project is situated in Qurum, an upscale Muscat suburb best known for its attractions including the Qurum Natural Park, Qurum City Centre and Qurum Beach, bordering Muscat’s Diplomatic District, home to many of the country’s embassies. “This newest collaboration strengthens our close relationship with Al Akkad. We have previously extended service and technical support to its various GCC projects, and the company’s management has shared that as a client, their satisfaction metric with Raimondi’s products, professionalism and services is very high.”
