Sharjah-based Basma Group and developer ARADA will jointly own the hotel
Thailand-headquartered Minor Hotels has signed a management agreement with Basma Group and Arada for a new Anantara resort in the UAE emirate of Sharjah. The $140m, 233-room Anantara Sharjah Resort will feature a selection of deluxe rooms and luxury suites at a prime beachfront location when it opens in mid 2020. Among the food and beverage options will be a specialty dining restaurant located on a pier. Other facilities include a male and female spa and wellness centre, a kids’ club, a swimming pool and a ballroom able to accommodate up to 540 guests. Sharjah-based Basma Group and developer ARADA will jointly own the hotel, with ARADA managing its construction. “There is a huge opportunity within the luxury segment in this fast-growing destination and we are confident that Anantara will be well received within the market,” said Minor International founder and chairman William E. Heinecke.
