ARADA has signed an agreement with Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) to establish 16 substations within its $6.5bn (AED24bn) Aljada megaproject. Signed by HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of Arada, and HE Dr Rashid Al Leem, chairman of SEWA, the deal will involve the development of one 132kV substation in the north-eastern corner of the community, and 15 additional 33/11kV substations. UAE-headquartered ARADA said that the programme would guarantee power to every section of the 2.2kmcommunity, which is set to become the Sharjah’s largest ever real estate project.
